ABOUT THIS ROLE

Northreach have partnered with a market leasing well respected financial services company who are looking for an Assistant Manager for the compliance and financial crime team. We are looking for someone with great attention to detail and great leadership skills. The purpose of the role is to perform second line Oversight Reviews; undertake Risk Assessments and participate in various other activities related to Compliance and Financial Crime.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and update the Compliance Monitoring Plan
  • Perform compliance oversight reviews across Business and support functions
  • Report the findings of the oversights to the Legal & Compliance Committee
  • Tracking and follow up for implementation of oversight recommendations / action points
  • Reporting of MI pertaining to open actions to Legal & Compliance Committee
  • Assist the MLRO in performing Financial Crime Risk Assessments for areas including KYC, AML, Sanctions, ABC, Fraud and Market Abuse
  • Assist the MLRO in reviewing and updating of MLRO Report and Country Risk Assessment
  • Submit relevant conclusions, recommendations of analysis of reviews to the MLRO
  • Review and update the Compliance and Financial Crime policies and procedures.
  • Review of escalations pertaining to CDD/EDD and payments and Sanctions.
  • Monitoring the overdue trainings and escalating to the relevant SMFs and relevant Governance Committees

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Good understanding of UK regulations in relations to compliance and financial crime
  • Understanding of the financial services sector
  • Understanding of risk-based approach to compliance and financial crime risk management
  • Knowledge of retail, commercial and wholesale banking products
  • In addition to technical competence, must have leadership skills
  • Analytical with great attention to detail
  • Communication at Senior level and present findings to the Board
  • Good interpersonal skills – including ability to interview and de-brief colleagues for investigative purpose
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Team player, able to cover for other team absences
  • Maintain management information pertaining to these escalations and submit periodic reports
  • Regulatory updates to Compliance, Business and support functions
  • Keep abreast of changes in applicable laws and regulations and provide guidance across business functions
  • Ad hoc projects and assignments related to Compliance and Financial Crime, Internal Audit and FCA action plan as allocated by the Deputy Manager/Head of Legal & Compliance
